Swannington Open Gardens - biennial fundraising Main Event Year. Our chosen charities for May 11th and June 30th are Rainbows Hospice, Nottingham Children’s Hospital Big iMRI Scanner Appeal for Children, Air Ambulance (Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Rutland - specific clothing) and village projects. Quite a tall order really so we need your help to make this another special year with our fundraising efforts. Hobby Horse Making Event

Hobby Horse Making has proven to be so popular at the Whistlewood Music Festival that we have decided to run a workshop dedicated to making them! Made with willow for the stick, a sock head and then lots of imagination (and choice of materials for eyes, ears, nostrils and bridles). A small amount of simple sewing will be involved which we hope all will get involved with! Once our Hobby Horses come to life and are named we will discuss care of our horses and will go for a quick canter round the site. We may even have a race!...
